Abstract
Methods: We analyzed Humphrey visual fields 10-2 done for moderate to advanced primary glaucoma (Mean deviation MD<-20 dB based on 24-2) who had undergone 5 reliable 10-2 visual field test with followup of 2 years. Regression slope >-1dB/year at p<;0.01at a point was defined as individual threshold point progression (PLR).Fluctuation was measured using standard deviation(SD) at individual points with >20dB value based on 10-2. Results 53 eyes of 44 patients with median follow up of 4.73 years(±2.12) included. Median MD 24-2 at inclusion was- 27.15 dB(-28.91,-23.94) and 10-2 MD-22.5 dB (-26.26,-19.45).7 eyes(14%) showed progression based on PLR. Mean rate of progression showed a negative trend in progressing eyes (-0.59 vs. 0.16 p 0.003).Median threshold of points more than 20 dB was similar in both groups (25.44 vs.24.84 p 0.2). Median SD was similar between both groups (2.8 vs.2.91 p 0.9)Conclusion: Long term visual field fluctuation did not differ in eyes with and without progression
