Abstract
Congenital retinal macrovessels are rare incidental findings in routine ophthalmic examinations. They are large aberrant single unilateral vessels and are asymptomatic unless associated with foveolar cyst, foveal ectopia, macular hemorrhage, exudates, serous macular detachment or macrovessel across fovea.Multimodal imaging has a significant role in diagnosis and follow up of such cases.we report a case of 57 year old hypertensive male with congenital retinal macrovessel with unaffected visual acuity and normal anterior segment.Various imaging modalities like spectralis domain optical coherence tomography, infrared, multicolor and fundus fluorescein angiography were performed to look for depth profile of the macrovessel, foveal avascular zone, abnormal leakage points and arteriovenous anastomosis showing no significant abnormality. To the best of our knowledge few cases of congenital retinal macrovessel with normal visual acuity has been reported till date and hence reported for its rarity.
