Abstract

AIM: To evaluate the visual outcome after manual SICS in phacolytic glaucoma in Tertiary eyecare Centre.

Methods: Prospective study of 1 year included 38 patients with phacolytic glaucoma treated by manual SICS with IOL implantation. Preoperative & postoperative visual acuity with IOP have been recorded & compared at the end of 6 weeks after surgery .Results: Mean preoperative IOP was 38.22(+/-9.46)mmHg. Surgery was uneventful in all patients. Postoperative mean IOP was 16.4(+/-4.60)mmHg. Preoperative visual acuity in all the affected eyes were perception of light with projection of rays in all quadrants in 29 patient (76.31%) & inaccurate projection of rays in 9 patients (23.68%). Postoperative BCVA was 6/6-6/12 in 26patients(68.42%), 6/18-6/36 in 8 patients(21.05%) &
