Abstract
A prospective interventional study of 40 biocompatible platinum cured silicone GDD drains into retrobulbar space.
Materials & methods – A multicentric study at 3 centres carried out between Jan 2021 to july 2022 . endstage intractable glaucoma were included.10 cases had combined procedure with PCIOL
Procedure -Conjuncival peritomy extending 3 clock hrs made. L- shaped conjunctival incision is made at limbus and after a blunt dissection a vectis is inserted to about 40mm from limbus to retroorbital space .gentle cautery used over bare sclera . A oblique partial thickness scleral tunnel is made by a angled MVR blade about 7-8mm from the limbus and the bevelled end is inserted into the scleral tunnel which is partly filled with 2%HPMC . valved end of the tube is inserted into the retrobulbar space . Bevelled end of the tube is inserted through another scleral tunnel which opens into the AC and wound closed.
Results -100% successful procedure with IOP 10-12mmHg achieved .
