Abstract
PURPOSE
To report a rare case of Weill-Marchesani Syndrome with bilateral advanced glaucoma and its management.
CASE REPORT
A 30-Year old female patient presented with defective vision on both eyes, short stature, brachydactyly and joint stiffness. Ocular examination showed, Best Corrected Visual Acuity of 6/12 with -10Dsph OD and 6/9 with -12Dsph OS, IOP was 22mmHg OD and 24mmHg OS, bilateral microspherophakia with anterior subluxation and bilateral advanced glaucomatous cupping on fundus examination. Gonioscopy showed occludable angles in BE. She was diagnosed as a case of Weill-Marchesani Syndrome with secondary angle closure glaucoma. She underwent Nd:YAG laser peripheral iridotomy BE and started on ocular hypotensive medications. She underwent sequential pars plana lensectomy and scleral fixated Intraocular lens.
CONCLUSION
Visual morbidities of microspherophakia leading to advanced glaucoma can be handled with prompt diagnosis and timely surgical intervention.
