CASE HISTORY: A 90yr old male presented with severe photophobia, redness, watering for last 7months.On examination, annular fleshy gelatinous mass was seen on the bulbar conjunctiva encroaching onto the cornea more than 270degrees all around associated with persistent epithelial defect and corneal edema. Excision biopsy was done following intense treatment of persistent epithelial defect.Histopathological diagnosis revealed SCC conjunctiva. In this case we couldn’t use mitomycin C eyedrops due to limbal stem cell deficiency.
RESULT: Patient is on regular follow up for last 4months. No signs of recurrence seen.
CONCLUSION: Early detection and excision provide excellent results. Histopathological examination confirms the diagnosis.
