Abstract
We hereby report a rare case of 61 year old female who developed ocular cictricial pemphigoid(OCP) 35 years after her acute episode of steves johnson syndrome (SJS). She has been under our follow up since 10 years and devveloped worsening both eyes severe congestion ,patchy keratinisation of lid margins with blunting of posterior margin of lid , loss of plica and stenosis of puncta 1 month after sequential cataract surgery. 360 degree corneal vascularisation and scarring was noted in BE.Though such features can be present in SJS patients and clinical suspicion of OCP lead us to do a conjunctival biopsy which was positive for OCP. She was started on immunosupression by the rheumatologist and her ocular surface inflammation improved.CONCLUSION:Till date only 5 cases of OCP developing as sequelae to SJS have been reported in literature and this case highlights the important difference in clinical presentation between SJS and OCP which are indistinguishable at chronic presentation.
