Abstract
A 31-year-old female (with a family history of keratoconus) patient who presented for refractive screening was found to have not yet attained refractive stability. (change in power of glasses in the last 1 year) The clinical examination showed endothelial pigments in the cornea and Bussaca nodules in the iris of the right eye and normal anterior segment anatomy in the left eye. The Scheimpflug imaging showed the thinnest pachymetry of 465 microns, shifted inferotemporal (y-axis of 0.54mm) in the right eye and 477 microns with inferotemporal shift (y-axis 0.54mm) in the left eye with normal keratometry and posterior elevation values. The BAD-D value was 2.23 in the right eye and 1.69 in the left eye. Thus, we report this case as an example of a possible association between anterior uveitis and subclinical keratoconus. The exact cause of this association cannot be explained, though it could be related to genetic or autoimmune factors, which could act as a link between the two disorders.
