Abstract
Purpose
1)To evaluate the clinical features of Cogan Reese syndrome.
2)To evaluate the control of IOP following Ahmed glaucoma valve surgery in the same.
Case report
A 37 year old lady had progressively increasing defective vision in left eye.Her BCVA was 6/6 in RE and 6/60 in LE. LE showed cornea edema, iris nodules, ectropion uvea and corectopia.IOP-46mmHg. Gonioscopy-closed angles with broad based PAS.Fundus-advanced glaucomatous damage.Specular microscopy-decreased cell count, polymegathism and dark cells with light central spot and light periphery.OCT-superior,inferior,nasal and temporal field depression. She was undergone Ahmmed valve surgery. Now her IOP is controlled with no further drop in vision with a follow up for 1 year.
Conclusion
1)Cogan Reese syndrome can be diagnosed clinically with the confirmation by specular microscope.
2)IOP is not controlled with maximum antiglaucoma medications.
3)Surgical technique is a better option like the Ahmed glaucoma valve surgery.
