Abstract

Post covid mucormycosis becomes much evident after 2nd wave of covid 19 in India esp. in patients with uncontrolled diabetics. We present a case whose presentation was atypical, started with toothache and fever and mere in 5 days presented with features of orbital cellulitis like feature, without any nasal/paranasal sinus (PNS) features, even initially plain CT scan (brain) didn’t detect any feature suggestive of fungal infection; moreover on nasal endoscopy only thickened nasal mucosa was there. Patient was neither immune-compromised nor diabetic/ deranged blood sugar at any time. So, we report a case of rhino orbital mucormycosis in post covid times with atypical presentation emphasizing that it can present very differently.
