Abstract
70 year old female k/c/o Type 2 DM since 15 years came with complaints of mild blurring of vision in both eyes , positive scotoma and metamorphopsia since 3 months. Ocular examination showed vision in right eye to be 6/36 with no improvement with pin hole and left eye vision 6/24 with pin hole improving to 6/18. Anterior segment examination showed early cataract in both eyes. Fundus evaluation of both eyes revealed multiple golden tiny crystalline deposits near macular region ,macular telangiectatic vessel+, Right angled venules extending into parafoveolar retina. OCT Macula and field analysis was done. Supportive management was given and advised follow up. Mac Tel 2 is an acquired bilateral neurodegenerative macular disease. It is characterised by dilatation of parafoveal capillaries with greying of retinal areas involved, right angled retinal venules, refractile deposits and RPE hyperplasia later leading to foveal atrophy and loss of central vision.
