Abstract

Blister beetle induced keratoconjunctivitis is the rarest presentation. Blister beetle belongs to the species paedrus sabeus, also called as Nairobi fly has a characteristic red, black and dark green colour. The paedrus genus produces the chemical toxin called paedrin which is responsible for unique dermatological and ocular manifestations. Though blister beetle induced dermatitis is a common clinical entity, ocular manifestations following accidental contamination of eyes from infected site has been reported only in Africa. We are presenting this case as it is reported first time in India with blister beetle induced ocular manifestation.
