Abstract
38 year old male with no known comorbidities presented to casualty with alleged history of RTA. On evaluation LE periorbital edema and ecchymosis was seen. Left eye upper lid showed a small lacerated wound and a lid margin tear. Margin tear was repaired and suture thread was secured onto forehead. Few weeks later patient presented to the casualty with complaints of a blueberry like non tender swelling over the sutured lid margin area. O/E a broad based pedunculated mass with necrosed area over superior surface arising from LE upper tarsal conjunctiva was seen. Aspiration of swelling was done considering the swelling as a hematoma which resulted in spurting of blood.
Bleeding was stopped by putting multiple sutures through the base of swelling following which excision of the swelling was done, bleeding vessel was ligated and exposed conjunctiva was repaired. Histopathology report confirmed foreign body granuloma.
