Abstract
Aims:To report the clinico-pathological profile and outcome of orbital SOL. Methods: Prospective, interventional case series. Results:Out of 110 cases 61.82% were males. Age ranged from 2 to16 yr.76.36% were neoplastic lesions. Amongst the neoplastic lesions,46 cases were benign lesions. Common non neoplastic disorders were Orbital hematoma & Abscess (9.0%),Congenital cystic (5.5%).Dermoid cysts (18.2%),Cavernous hemangioma (10.9%) ,Lymphangioma (8,7.3%) and Optic nerve glioma (5.5%) were benign lesions. Out of 38 malignant lesions (34.55 %),the commonest were Rhabdomyosarcoma (18.18 %) and Orbital retinoblastoma(18,16.36%).Commonest clinical presentation were proptoisis, restricted EOM. 67.27% cases were managed surgically. 9.10% had Recurrence. Conclusion: Commonest malignant lesions are rhabdomyosarcoma and orbital retinoblastoma. Most common benign lesions are dermoid cyst and hemangioma.CT and MRI are modality of choice for localization of the orbital space occupying lesion.
