Abstract
Visual loss in young adult can be caused by rare list of differentials including demyelinating diseases, inflammatory, ischaemic event etc. Determining the aetiology is guided by variables such as patient age, lateralization of symptoms, time course of vision loss, and associated symptoms. We report a case of 30 year old female with acute onset visual loss noted since few years ago. She had a history of acute hypertensive crisis few years back (during her puerperium) after which she had reported visual loss in the same eye, but the same worsened. On fundus examination, a sub and intra-retinal lesion was note which was white with regular borders, sickle shaped causing ILM folds in LE. FFA showed hyperfluorescent lesion with pooling in late phase at the same area. In this review, we discuss how even in young patients, acute hypertensive crisis may lead to retinal bleed which may later lead to visual loss, trauma being one of the rare differential.
