Abstract
Dr.SANTOSH MAHAPATRA
Ocular trauma is the commonest cause of ophthalmic emergencies and these are often complicated with particulate foreign bodies in the eye. A variety of foreign bodies such as metallic, glass, vegetative matter and particulate matter has been isolated from the ocular tissues. The timing and technique of isolation of foreign bodies from the anterior segment, posterior segment and the orbit needs a complete understanding of the anatomy and requisite skill to avoid iatrogenic damage to surrounding structures. This course will enable the participants to understand the complexity of ocular trauma complicated with foreign bodies and assist in providing a step by step video based learning to deal with them.
