Abstract
Methods: A 47-year-old male presented to our lens services with (VA) of PL+ve PR accurate in the right eye . Slit lamp examination revealed megalocornea and mature white cataract with subluxation from 1 to 5 clock hours and normal fundus.
The surgery was performed under peribulbar anaesthesia. The standard 1.2 mm keratome side ports at 2 and 8 clock hour ,air, trypan blue dye staining, followed by OVD was inserted. Main port entry was made ,liquified cortex aspirated and two stage continuous curvilinear capsulorrhexis was done . Phacoemulsification with low parameters was done. Three piece IOL was inserted after capsular bag stabilisation with CTR and CTS.
Results: Postoperatively, BCVA was 6/9 in the right eye. Intraocular lens was well centred .
Conclusions: Crossing all hurdles in “Megaophthalmic” eye with dexterity leads to excellent visual outcomes post cataract surgery.
