Abstract
Case report-To report a case of 65 years female presented to our hospital with open globe injury in right eye. Initially she underwent primary scleral tear repair. Subsequently, she examined to have aphakia, aniridia, non-resolving vitreous hemorrhage, limbus-to-limbus blood stained membrane and progressive development of retinal detachment with PVR changes. Patient underwent surgery in form of pupillary prolene silicon oil retention sutures with vitrectomy and silicon oil implantation in same eye. On followup, vision in the same eye improved to CF3m on 4 weeks followup with clear cornea, attached retina and normal intraocular pressure. Conclusion- Silicon oil retention sutures can act as anterior chamber and cornea savior in cases of total aniridia with silicon oil fill. These eyes later can planned for secondary intraocular lens implantation without any corneal complication.
