Abstract
Autologous serum (AS) drops are rich in various growth factors such as epithelial growth factor, vascular endothelial growth factor, nerve growth factor, fibronectin and vitamin A. These growth factors accelerate migration of epithelial cells, repair of epithelial and stromal processes and has been used for ocular surface stabilization in severe dry eye, leaking blebs and refractive surgery. Their usage has also been documented in cases of ulcerated dermis fat graft, implant exposure in anophthalmic socket. As AS eye drops are collected from patients own blood they are non-allergenic, cost effective, easily available management option with good clinical outcome. This video will demonstrate the technique of preparation of autologous serum eye drops, and their usage in different clinical scenarios of anophthalmic socket ensuring good clinical outcome.
