Abstract
Gonioscopy assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) using 5-0 Prolene suture aims at a 360 degrees opening of the inner wall of Schlemms canal by an ab-interno approach, sparing the conjunctiva and sclera. Traditionally done with an illuminated iTrack microcatheter, the low cost alternative for developing countries is the 5-0 Prolene suture GATT. It looks easy in the hands of an expert but it has its own learning curve. It requires mastery over intraoperative gonioscopy, proper positioning of the operation table, the microscope and the patient. This video shows the challenges faced by a beginner and simple tips and tricks to overcome the same. Behind each step there is a logic and proper understanding of the same makes the subsequent step smoother and easier. All steps when done properly, leads to a successful surgical outcome.
