Abstract
Methods: Detailed history and ocular examination was done for five different patients who presented to the lens services of our tertiary care institute with aphakia .Posterior segment was unremarkable in all cases. Aniseikonia was the complaint all patients had if they used spectacles. Hence, surgical management was done in all five cases via different techniques described in literature -transcleral fixation of intraocular lens (Sutured tsfiol, Aniridia SFIOL, Glued SFIOL,Yamane technique) if capsular rim was absent and secondary IOL if capsular rim was intact.
Results: Excellent visual outcomes were obtained in all five cases. Postoperatively, TSFIOL as well as secondary IOL were well centred with no complications.
Conclusion: Surgical management via different approaches provides better outcomes than conservative options especially in development of binocular single vision in patients with aphakia.
