Abstract
Trauma to the iris can present in a variety of ways depending on its location and severity. Tears at the pupillary border lead to an atonic, mydriatic, or partially reactive pupil. Tears at the iris root lead to iridodialysis. Patients at high risk for iatrogenic surgical trauma to the iris, include those with a history or a predisposition of Intra-operative Iris Floppy Syndrome (IFIS), psuedoexfoliation syndrome, or history of iritis. 70 year old patient operated for Cataract surgery by manual SICS by a PG resident under training , she mistakenly did iridodialysis that only superior iris was left. Then patient was planned for surgery, B scan and fundus examination wad done to rule out posterior pathology , it was seen that her iris was folded upon itself and was deposited superiorly. Subsequently the iris was reposited , then pupilloplasty was performed and retropupillary Iris claw lens was implanted , her vision was improved to 6/12 after spectacle correction.
