Abstract
We present a case of 39 year old Indian lady with complaints of diminution of vision and whitish opacity in both eyes since childhood and progressive enlargement and protrusion of black part of left eye. She complained of severe pain in left eye at the time of presentation. Her clinical examination revealed leucomatous corneal opacity in both eyes and anterior staphyloma and keratinization in left eye. The available surgical options are evisceration with secondary implant placement and prosthesis or staphylectomy with corneal transplantation. Evisceration is a destructive procedure which involves removal of intra-ocular contents. The patient will have to deal with the hassles of prosthesis maintenance and stigma of having an artificial eye. This video aims at showing the audience the alternative surgical technique of staphylectomy in patients who are otherwise taken up for evisceration. This is a globe salvaging procedure with better anatomical and functional results
