Abstract

Lenticule extraction for myopic refractive correction is a new refractive procedure with high safety and efficacy. The current technology has limitations like poor suction and consequent suction loss during lenticule creation, no possibility of centration correction after docking, possibility of gas bubble entering the anterior chamber and lenticule adhesions causing lenticule tears and incomplete extraction. Ziemer (Switzerland) has the technology with possibility of centering after docking, venting tunnels for gas venting, overlapping spot scan for low energy and easy separation, cyclotorsion compensation. This provides easy lenticule extraction and accurate correction of Myopia up to -10 D sphere and up to -5 D astigmatism.
