VT0387 – Small Incision Cataract Surgery in an eye with Leucomatous Corneal Opacity

Abstract
A 68 year old male patient presented with complaints of diminution of vision in right eye since 18 months, which gradually increased in last 6 months, for both near and far vision. Patient had a past history of corneal ulcer in right eye 18 months back for which treatment was taken. On examination of right eye, vision was hand movements, cornea had a leucomatous corneal opacity in the nasal paracentral and central cornea measuring about 7mm *9mm and lens showed mature cataract. Rest of the anterior segment and posterior segment was normal. After routine investigations, patient underwent right small incision cataract surgery with foldable single piece IOL implantation under local anaesthesia. On table posterior synechiae was noted but otherwise surgery was uneventful. Postoperatively, patient had a Snellen’s vision of 6/24 and postoperative period was uneventful.
