Abstract
The normal pupil structure in terms of size and shape can be altered secondary to congenital dysgenesis or acquired conditions including iatrogenic injury and trauma. It requires an attention when patient is symptomatic with dysphotopsia, glare, reduced visual quality and monocular diplopia. Some other minor indications of repair being , to relieve appositional angle closure, to prevent postoperative complications after penetrating keratoplasty and cosmetic reasons. An iris prosthesis may be the main viable alternative when the iris deficiency is huge but suture repair can be the choice in small with residual iris tissue normal. Various techniques have been proposed and employed by surgeons. Modified Seipser knot, single pass four throw technique, pupil cerclage are widely employed.
