Abstract
Materials:24 eyes with RVO with macular edema (12 CRVO; 1 Combined occlusion; 7 BRVO & 3 impending CRVO)were included. All these patients were given oral steroids, in addition to intravitreal Anti-VEGF.Anatomical & visual outcome were measured
Results: 21 patients with the established occlusion and macular edema responded favourably. These patients required on an average of 1.2 injections over a minimal follow up of 1yr. All the 3 patients with impending RVO had complete reversal and normalisation of the fundus.Mean CMT at presentation was 472.5 which reduced to 333.81.Mean VA increased by 10 letters. The no of anti-VEGF required reduced to 1.2 for the1st yr.These patients required on an average of 1.2 injections over a minimal follow up of atleast 1 yr.All the 3 patients with impending RVO had complete reversal and normalisation of the fundus.
Conclusion: Oral steroids pay an undeniable role in reversing the pathogenesis and preventing multiple usage of the Anti-VEGF
