Abstract
INTRODUCTION
CAR is an autoimmune retinopathy where the auto-antibodies against tumour tissue cross-react with retinal tissue, mistaking it as foreign antigen.
CASE REPORT
A 62 years old female presented to our clinic with complaints of gradual onset of constriction of visual fields in both eyes since a year.
On examination- visual acuity, anterior and posterior segment were normal. On visual field testing using Humphrey analyser, significant constriction of visual fields was noted, preserving only the central tunnel vision.
On probing, she gave history of undergoing surgery for breast carcinoma followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy for the same after which complete remission was noted. On Fundus Autofluorescence and OCTA- features suggestive of CAR were noted.
CONCLUSION
CAR should be ruled out in patients presenting with constriction of visual fields with history of systemic cancer. Also, work up for malignancy should be done in unexplained visual field constriction.
