Abstract
The study aimed to predict the incidence of ROP in preterm. To compare Admission temperature,Feeding behaviour (breast feeding or mix feeding),KMC Duration, Inborn or outborn and CHOP ROP algorithm to predict association with development of ROP.
This was a prospective cross sectional observational study conducted in NICU of a tertiary care hospital after due approval from the institutional ethics committee. Statistical analysis was performed using Statistical package for social sciences version 20.
A total of 160 babies data included for final analysis. The mean age of screening was 34.2week. 39[24.4%] babies found to be with ROP, 35 eyes with Zone 3 stage 1, most common zone and stage. Bilateral involvement was most common [n=34(87.2%)]. 9 [5.6%] babies needed treatment. 10 eyes needed only laser, 3 eyes Anti VEGF+ Laser and 2 eyes only Anti VEGF, no surgical intervention. CHOP algorithm can be a useful tools to avoid serial screening for non-treatable ROP.
