Method: Retrospective case series of patients who underwent Kpro swap in MOOKP from 2003-2022
Results : 113 eyes underwent MOOKP with anatomical retention of 65.5% with MOOKP over a mean follow up of 101+/-59.26 months. Lamina was removed in 40 eyes ( SJS 25/71, Chemical injury 11/38 ,Others-4/4 ).29 underwent a Kpro swap in the same eye (Lucia type 2-13, re-MOOKP-8, Boston type 2-4, LUX-1, BKP1-1,OKP-2) and 5 ( BKP2-2,Lucia-2-2 ,LUX-1) in the other. The mean duration of Kpro retention after secondary kpro was 91.83 +/- 31.5 months with a mean total duration of 154.83 months with any kpro. BCVA >20/200 was attained in 68% after kpro swap .Vision was maintained for 89.37 +/- 34.24 months after secondary kpro with a mean total duration of 152.37 months with any kpro.
Conclusion: Availability of newer devices and a comprehensive training in all kinds of keratoprosthesis surgery helps enhance outcomes following MOOKP.
