Abstract
A patient with inferior iris coloboma,NSIII,cortical cataract, and zonulodialysis in left eye- planned for phacoemulsification, capsulotension ring implantation and single pass four-throw pupilloplasty.
PROCEDURE
An uneventful phacoemulsification was done in stop and chop technique.Capsular tension ring was introduced and dialed inside the bag for the inferior zonulodialysis(ZD).Foldable intraocular lens implanted into the bag with the haptics placed along the area of ZD. A 10-0 prolene suture was rail roaded through the iris colobomatous defect. Then the suture part externally was throwed into loop 4 times-showcasing the four throw pupilloplasty. The suture ends were pulled externally leading to the closure of iris defect.
POSTOPERATIVE
Cornea-clear,Anterior chamber-quiet,Pupil-round,IOL-stable.
CONCLUSION
Single pass four-throw pupilloplasty(SFT) helped in reducing the glare and thus improve the quality of vision to the patient.
