Abstract
Aim- To assess serum lipid levels in primary angle closure glaucoma
Method- This is a hospital based, prospective, case control study in tertiary health care centre from March 2021 to Feb 2022 in which 43 patients of PACG and 37 age sex matched control subjects were taken. Serum levels HDL, LDL , triglycerides (TGL) and cholesterol levels were measured in all subjects and analysed.
Results- serum LDL and HDL and TGL and cholesterol levels were significantly greater than (p<0.05) in PACG group compared to control group. Serum HDL levels were (p<0.003),serum LDL level were (p<0.01) and serum TGL levels (p<0.02). Conclusion- High levels of serum lipids were associated with Primary angle closure glaucoma.
