Abstract
Gonioscopy is an integral part of glaucoma diagnosis and managment. Conventionally, opthalmologists use
torchlight to screen shallow angles in outreach camps. We used ASPI-gonio ie gonio imaging using a smartphone
attached with an 8D intraocular lens with a single mirror gonio lens; to screen glaucoma in 10 camps comprising
1823 patients. All patients underwent torch light AC depth examination, followed by IOP by schiotz tonometry,
anterior segment photography using smartphone based tool ASP with 15D IOL. Patients with narrow angle suspect
underwent ASPI-gonio imaging – screening 0.85% of suspected primary angle closure glaucoma. Patients with raised
OP and disc suspect on funds evaluation through smartphone aided retcam-screened 1.42% suspected primary
open angle glaucoma. All these cases were documented and referred to base hospital for further evaluation and
management. Out of 41 referrals, 29 patients came to base hospital for evaluation and appropriate management
was done.
