Abstract
To describe visual, cosmetic & survival outcomes of covid-19 associated rhinoorbitocerebral mucormycosis(ROCM) managed with limited orbital exenteration.Study included all COVID-19 associated ROCM patients treated at our hospital. All patients underwent endoscopic debridement & received amphotericin B.Those with significant orbital infiltration radiologically underwent orbital debridement or limited orbital exenteration. Results:Among 69patients,27/69(39·1%) rhinoorbital& 15/69(21·7%)rhinoorbitocerebral(ROC) disease with mean age 51·95(±14·29) a male preponderance.Orbital involvement was mild11/42, moderate15/42 & severe16/42.Severe orbital disease was significantly higher in ROC group(p=0.018),associated with poor visual outcome(p=0.02).Severe orbital disease didn’t affect survival outcome(p=0.26),could be attributed to covid related death.Ten underwent debridement& 6 limited orbital exenteration.Limited exenteration ensures good cosmetic outcomes without compromising survival in ROCM
