Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate efficacy of TRAMB in terms of reduction of surgical management. Methods: A retrospective study of 84 eyes of mucormycosis with radiographic evidence were evaluated from april 2021 to august 2022. Ophthalmic examination was done and TRAMB was incorporated in treatment. The response to TRAMB was monitored in terms of improvement in the visual-acuity, ptosis, ocular motility, and reduction in chemosis, proptosis ,complications and whether patients required additional surgery. Results: Out of 84 eyes, 64(76%) have improved after TRAMB, (p value < 0.001) and no improvement in 20(23%). 52(62%) eyes had to undergo surgery. There was complete resolution with TRAMB alone in 26(32%) eyes. 52(62%) eyes had complications related to TRAMB which was resolved in 3 weeks. Conclusion:There was significant improvement in the clinical picture in the eyes treated with TRAMB. when administered in eyes with extensive involvement, reduces chances of exenteration
