Abstract
To evaluate neuroophthalmic (NO) disorders associated with COVID19 infection in patients attending tertiary eye care hospital 2020-July2022.Retrospective evaluation of records of patients diagnosed with NO problems associated with COVID and categorized I-pupil,II-optic nerve,III-cortical,IV-cranialnerve and V-miscellaneous.15 patients diagnosed with the NO disorders associated with COVID. 3 in category I with Adie’s pupil diagnosed 1-2 months of infection. 3 in category II, one each with disc edema, optic neuritis and neuroretinitis. 4 with cortical vision loss in category IV with residual deficit even after 2 years. 4 had cranial nerve palsies,2with third and 2with sixth nerve palsies and recovered within 3 months. 1 had quiescent multiple myeloma, developed flare up and orbital apex syndrome following COVID infection.Neuroophthalmic disorders are common following 2weeks-3months of COVID.The residual deficits are common except in cranialnerve palsies, which showed complete recovery.
