Abstract
AIM: To study course of retinal changes in post transplant cases for a better quality of life. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Observational and Prospective study in 82 Diagnosed cases of CKD which underwent renal transplant between July 18 & Dec 19.Patients with acute renal disease and those undergoing dialysis were excluded. 3 follow ups were done.1 visit before and 2 after renal transplant. Complete ocular examination done in each visit. RESULTS: 82(AGE 26-77 YRS) cases of CKD were taken out of which 23 had undergone renal transplant. 56.65% patients showed stabilization or regression of retinal changes which were mainly in diabetics. 43.47% showed worsening of retinal changes like macular edema, CSCR & macular degeneration. Conclusion: Regular ocular checkups must be done in patients post transplant so that we can intervene early and accordingly for better visual outcome and quality of life.
