Abstract
PROBE study to determine the amount of CECD loss&AC inflammation after AADI and trabeculectomy.42eyes into trabeculectomy&primary AADI using Block Randomisation. Postoperatively,Specular(5quadrants)(cell density, hexagonality&CoV)&LFM on day1,7,1month &3month.CECD were comparable in all quadrants except superotemporal quadrant of AADIon POD1 which later normalised.Mean LFM change from baseline in POD30&POD3m(change 0.6±6 in the trab &mean change -2.09±3.4 in the AADI) was statistically significant.IOP reduction 3m comparable.ASOCT:AC depth change from baseline to POD 7 of AADI was pvalue:0.001.No. of secondary procedures were more in trab(pvalue 0.005).Thus, there was no significant variation in the CECD loss, IOP reduction,AC flare&complication rate. The IOP reduction failure rate, rise in flare from baseline, secondary procedure&antiglaucoma medication post-surgery were significantly more in trab.Hexagonality loss in superotemporal quadrant after AADI surgery persisted at 3 months.
