Abstract

ANTERION (Heidelberg,Germany) is a new platform for anterior segment imaging and IOl calculation based on High resolution Swept Source OCT images. It captures detailed images from anterior surface of cornea to posterior surface of lens. It automatically evaluates the scleral spur, an important anatomical landmark in the anterior chamber which allows calculation and visualization of many biometric parameters. It helps in objective evaluation of patency of peripheral iridotomy and of the sclerostomy opening of a trabeculectomy. It helps in distinguishing between open angle and angle closure glaucoma as it displays the degree of angle opening and also evaluates anterior chamber volume and depth. Bleb morphology and characteristics such as bleb height, thickness, extent can be studied. It helps in assessing the plateau iris configuration also. ANTERION is a anterior segment solution for assessment of corneal parameters, biometry and anterior chamber and has widespread uses in glaucoma.
