Abstract
Cytomegalovirus retinitis is a common ocular opportunistic infection in immunocompromised patients, especially in AIDS patients and also seen in patients on long immunosuppression (e.g. leukemia, renal transplant) where CD4+ counts are lower than 100/ cubic milimeter. Literature review has shown CMV retinitis in immunocompetent patients with bilateral ocular involvement. this is a case of unilateral CMV retinitis in 20 year young immunocompetent male.
