Abstract

This is a case series of three children presenting with Sub Periosteal Hematoma within a week of blunt trauma. Sub Periosteal Hematoma usually occurs in superior orbit due to direct rupture of subperiosteal blood vessels .It almost always present and usually presents late where there is gross hypoglobus, diminution of vision, intractable diplopia or pain.

Though all of them presented early with significant periorbital edema, ptosis, non-axial proptosis, congestion, they did not respond to medical management. Hence CT Scan guided aspiration of hematoma was done as the proptosis was progressive and haematoma threatened to compress the optic nerve. All three showed remarkable resolution of symptoms and improvement of visual acuity.
