Abstract
OBJECTIVES
1. To compare the iridocorneal angle(ICA),anterior chamber volume(ACV) and depth in PACS before and after YAG PI using Sirius Scheimpflug tomography(SSI)
2. To determine the correlation between gonioscopy and ICA in PACS
METHODS
SSI were used to analyse the changes in anterior chamber parameters in primary angle closure suspects (PACS) ,1 week before and after Nd YAG laser peripheral iridotomy (YAG PI). All YAG PI were done by glaucoma specialists. The continuous variables were compared using paired-t-test and the 17 categorical variables were compared using McNemar’s test. Kendal’s Tau was used to assess correlation between ICA and gonioscopy. All the analyses were performed using SPSS 21.0 IBM, Bangalore.
RESULTS
There was a significant increase in ACV and ICA after YAG PI in PACS.
The overall anterior chamber deepened after YAG PI, significantly more in the midperiphery in PACS.
There was no correlation between gonioscopy and ICA.
