Abstract
DR. KALPANA NARENDRAN
The armamentarium of pediatric ophthalmologists is ever expanding. There has been much interest recently to try and retard myopia progression. This course will enlighten the listeners about the low dose atropine, its indication and how to deal with progressors. The participants will gain understanding about the new technology in the spectacles for myopia. No field in paediatric ophthalmology has advanced at as fast a rate as the area of pediatric cataract surgery. The course will detail the options of multifocal, trifocal and toric IOL in children. There has been a tremendous level of interest in amblyopia management beyond patching like BYNOCS therapy. This course will provide knowledge about the indications and evidence of the therapy. Recently botulinum toxin has regained its usage after an epidemic of acute acquired comitant esotropia which will be well illustrated in the session. The speakers with their experience will throw some light on appropriate usage of these advancements.
