Pediatric retinal surgeries are challenging because of its varied etiology, anatomic variations and advanced stage of disease presentation. This video highlights the tips and pearls to operate these eyes. The anatomic variations to be considered are the underdeveloped pars plana and vitreous adhesions causing difficult or no PVD induction. A combined exudative and tractional retinal detachment that occurs in vaso-proliferative diseases like retinopathy of prematurity, familial exudative retinal detachment need to be dissected carefully to avoid any iatrogenic breaks. Tackling exudative detachments in Coats disease and vitreous hemorrhage in retinoschisis is highlighted. Thus, this video gives disease specific surgical tips in the management of various pediatric retinal diseases.
