Abstract
Methods :This is a Video based presentation of retrospective review of 36 children’s with metastatic retinoblastoma. Histopathology or MRI findings and Lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis were evaluated. Treatment outcomes and survival rate were analyzed.Results: A 42 eyes of 36 patients with metastatic retinoblastoma were studied. There were 22 male. Mean patient age was 43 months . 5 patient had bilateral involvement and one had trilateral retinoblastoma. 55.56 % patient had lymph node metastasis and 33.33% patient had distant and CNS metastasis.23 patients were underwent systemic chemotherapy followed by EBRT while exenteration needed in 9 patients. Six patients died during treatment. Conclusion: Delayed presentation of retinoblastoma is common in India. The presence of CNS metastasis at the time of presentation is the cause of low survival rate.
