Abstract
As the quest for a safe& effective surgery for glaucoma continue,MIGS has added another armor for the battle against glaucoma.MIGS bridges the void between medications & glaucoma filtering surgery. Though the last decade has seen a multitude of upcoming MIGS procedures, the economic feasibility in India still remained a question. The device based procedures were limited by their availability &costs. BANG(Bent Ab interno Needle goniectomy)does not require expensive / sophisticated instruments. It can be performed using a readily available bent 25 gauge hypodermic needle.BANG is usually performed in combination with phacoemulsification, which still has an economic burden attached to it.MSICS is an inexpensive and commonly performed surgery in our country. We performed BANG in combination with MSICS thus making it ultra cost efficient. This video showcases our combined MSICS with BANG technique in a step by step & detailed fashion,to make its availability reach nooks & corners of the country.
