Abstract
Posterior dislocation of the crystalline lens, giant retinal tears and retinal detachment are well-known consequences of blunt ocular trauma. When all three occur together, there can be a rare event of the crystalline lens migrating sub-retinally through the giant retinal tear. We report once such patient who presented with hand movements vision in his left eye after road-traffic accident. He underwent encircling band buckle with 3 port-pars plana vitrectomy, followed by maneuvering the lens into vitreous cavity for PFCL assisted lensectomy followed by laser retinopexy and silicon oil infusion. Patient was left aphakic and secondary scleral fixation of intra-ocular lens planned during silicon oil removal. Visual acuity at last visit improved to was 5/60 with retina on under silicon oil.
