Abstract

Diabetic vitrectomies are known to be difficult due to various reasons including but not limited to poor visualization, difficulty in removing adherent membranes increasing chances of iatrogenic breaks, difficult PVD induction, increased chances of bleeding, systemic comorbidities etc.

Finding indivisualised approach for every case is essential to complete the surgery successfully.

We compile through multiple cases the various techniques, approaches and precautions which prove to be useful in most of the diabetic patients.

With modern instrumentation and techniques now even the cases which were earlier thought to be inoperable can be offered a chance.
