Abstract

The video is a collection of small surgical innovations in seven different surgical scenarios which can make big differences in routine surgical retina cases.

1. Scleral Buckling

(i) Arc length marker – A small fragment of tire element can be used as an excellent guide for placement of sutures.

(ii) Silk anchorage for en-bloc placement of tire with band.

2. Decentered IOL and RD surgery

(i) Pars Plana adjustment of IOL for re-centration after fluid air exchange

(ii) Air in anterior chamber in anticipation

3. Sub-retinal band (SRB)removal

(i) Strum, release and remove Technique – makes SRB removal more convenient

4. Ultra-low vacuum for ILM Trimming in macular hole surgery

5. Rudder technique for externalization of second haptic in SFIOL

6. Cutter assisted bag sparing cataract extraction for cases with subluxated cataract with retinal pathology like RRD requiring retina surgery.

7. Blunt dissection with cutter – a tool to get proper plane during diabetic vitrectomy.
