Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of intracameral ranibizumab in conventional trabeculectomy in patients with neovascular glaucoma.
Material and methods: It is a randomised hospital based interventional study. Thirty (30) neovascular glaucoma patients were included, out of which fifteen patients underwent intracameral ranibizumab following conventional trabeculectomy (GROUP A) and fifteen patients underwent only conventional trabeculectomy (GROUP B). Follow up to 15 months was done.
Results: In our study a statistically significant difference in intraocular pressure was found between the two groups in immediate and late postoperative period at the end of 15 months follow up.
Conclusion: Intracameral ranibizumab injection with conventional trabeculectomy in neovascular glaucoma can be an alternative treatment option of glaucoma drainage device in developing countries.
